Project Overview
The Cavendish Building represents a transformational investment in the future of higher education in Derby. Designed as the new home of Derby International Business School, the seven-storey development provides outstanding teaching facilities, collaborative learning spaces and industry-focused environments that support innovation, research and student success.
Advanced Roofing & Cladding was appointed to deliver the specialist roofing and façade package, working alongside Kier Construction and the wider project team to achieve the architect’s vision while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and programme management.
Working on such a prominent city-centre development required careful planning, close collaboration and technical expertise throughout every stage of construction.
Our Role
Advanced Roofing & Cladding delivered the specialist roofing and cladding package, ensuring every aspect of the building envelope met the demanding architectural and performance requirements.
Our responsibilities included:

Following completion, the project received the Derby Civic Society New Building Award 2026, celebrating its contribution to Derby’s built environment and architectural excellence.
The project was also shortlisted for both the NFRC Awards and the Façade Awards UK, recognising the exceptional quality of the roofing and façade installation and the collaborative efforts of everyone involved in delivering this landmark development.
