Awards, New Projects & Team Highlights
April has been a memorable month for the team at Advanced Roofing, packed with exciting achievements, new beginnings, and a few well-deserved moments of celebration. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this month—on and off the roof!
Gold Award at the NFRC Health, Safety and Environment Awards 2024
We’re proud to share that we’ve been awarded Gold at the NFRC Health, Safety and Environment in Roofing Awards 2024. This recognition is a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to high safety standards and responsible site practices across all our roofing and cladding projects.
New Projects Underway
It’s been a busy month on-site, with several exciting new commercial projects kicking off. From flat roofing installations to large-scale cladding works, we’re looking forward to sharing progress over the coming weeks.

Soprema Training at Advanced House
Our commitment to continuous improvement continued this month with hands-on Soprema training hosted at Advanced House. Our operatives got the chance to sharpen their skills and get up to speed with the latest in waterproofing systems.
Pizza Afternoon – A Team Favourite!
We took a break from the hard hats for a pizza afternoon, giving the whole team a chance to catch up, relax, and enjoy some great food together.
Mitch’s Racing Update
Team member Mitch hit the track again this month, though mechanical issues—specifically a faulty water pump—cut the races short. He’ll be back at it with the next round on 5th May. Go Mitch!
Supporting a Future Olympian: Zak’s Journey
We’re proud sponsors of Zak, who is making serious waves in the world of competitive taekwondo. As a junior, Zak won multiple titles across the UK and Europe, at one point reaching World Number 1 and finishing his junior career ranked World Number 2.
Zak has trained at elite camps across Europe, Jordan, Israel, the USA, Mexico, and Korea, and has represented Great Britain at both the Junior World Championships (twice) and the Junior European Championships.
At just 16 years old, Zak was selected to join the GB Olympic Full-Time Squad, and now as a senior fighter, he’s already secured silver and bronze medals in his first two competitions.
This year, Zak is set to compete in:
- Spain
- Bulgaria
- Charlotte, USA
- Korea
- …and hopefully the World Championships in China this October.
His ultimate goal? To qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics—and with the track he’s on, he’s in with a real chance.
We’re honoured to support Zak on his journey and wish him continued success in the ring and beyond!
Megan’s Skydive in Memory of Tom Vallans
In a powerful tribute to her late friend Tom Vallans, our very own Megan Abernethy took to the skies on 22nd February 2025, completing her first-ever skydive to raise funds for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). Despite not being a fan of flying, Megan bravely stepped out of her comfort zone, honoring Tom’s memory and supporting a cause close to her heart.
CRY works to prevent sudden cardiac deaths in young people by providing screening and support. Through her skydive, Megan has raised over £770, contributing to this vital mission.

Defibrillator Installed at Advanced House
We’re proud to now have a defibrillator installed at our premises, in partnership with London Hearts and the Department of Health & Social Care. This life-saving device adds an important layer of safety for staff, visitors, and the local community.
New Reception Signage
You may have noticed a fresh look in our reception area. Our new signage is now in place—modern, professional, and a perfect fit for the company’s growing presence.
